George B. Wallace is a founding partner of Potts & Wallace, LLP and manages its headquarters office in Key West. George is a fourth generation Floridian and is widely recognized across Florida for his expertise as a trial lawyer. His extensive career spans over 40 years, during which he has built a reputation for handling high-profile and complex civil cases with exceptional skill and dedication. Including the recent successful defense of the City of Key West in a weeklong Administrative trial with thousands of pages of exhibits and many experts challenging the City’s amendment to its Comprehensive Land Use plan allowing the City to accept 300 building units for affordable housing. After winning at the lower-level, Mr. Wallace consulted with the City assisting the City in drafting its successful Appellate brief.
His career has been marked by significant judicial appointments, reflecting his esteemed position within the legal community. Notably, he was appointed twice by Governor Rick Scott to the Judicial Nominating Commission of the 16th Judicial Circuit and continues to serve as the Governor’s appointee under Governor Ron DeSantis. He is also a member of the Key West Planning Board. George’s trial experience includes securing substantial verdicts in both state and federal courts throughout Florida. His track record includes notable cases in civil litigation, where his strategic acumen has led to favorable settlements and resolutions.
Active in community service, George has been a committed member of Rotary International since 1984, serving as Past President of the Sanford Rotary Club and the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club. He continues to contribute as the Club’s Foundation Chair. Additionally, he serves as the Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer for the Navy League Key West Council, demonstrating his dedication to supporting military and veteran causes. George and his wife, Julie, who celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this past January, have been residents of Key West for over 11 years and have owned a home in Monroe county for over 20 years.
Outside of his professional pursuits, George enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling, reflecting his love for Florida’s natural landscapes.
